                <text>Durante la época prehispánica la región actual de Ayacucho fue un territorio poblado por las macroetnias Lucanas, Soras, Chocorbos, Angaraes y los grupos mitimaes. Se hallaban integradas económica y religiosamente a las principales montañas [huacas] de Qarwarasu, Rasuwilka, Sara Sara y al sitio sagrado de Vilcas Huamán. En este territorio los mitimaes fueron establecidos estratégicamente por los incas para mejorar las actividades agrícolas, ganaderas, metalúrgicas y brindar servicios a los centros de integración religiosa.</text>
