                <text>El primer cronista que documenta  a los omaguas en la Amazonia  es el dominico Gaspar de Carvajal en 1541.  Las siguientes crónicas continúan citando un grupo con ciertas características (modelado craneal, túnicas de algodón, adornos de oro…), aunque con varias denominaciones y en lugares distintos, lo que dificulta su comprensión unitaria. En base a la revisión de crónicas del S. XVI a mediados del S. XVII, y de investigaciones modernas, se hace una aproximación crítica a una supuesta cultura omagua en territorio amazónico hoy principalmente peruano brasileño,  con gran población y aspectos sociales de cacicazgo. En arqueología, los omaguas históricos han sido vinculados a la Fase Napo [parte de la Tradición Polícroma Amazónica], cuya extensión, a partir de las últimas investigaciones, es mayor a lo que se pensaba. Igualmente, se plantea la probable existencia de la capital de la Aparia menor, morada de un gran cacique, tal y como consta en las primeras crónicas.</text>

Esto implica la necesidad de mejorar las variedades nativas de cacao fino de aroma y la urgencia de una transferencia efectiva de conocimiento por parte de la academia, hacia los productores. También se sugieren acciones para promover el consumo de cacao [inclusión en la gastronomía, promoción de sus propiedades nutraceúticas, redefinición de los objetivos de las ferias, formación de escuelas de catadores especializados...]. Por último,  se señala la necesidad de sincerar las intervenciones del Estado para evitar la redundancia de esfuerzos, así como de asignar  presupuesto para el cumplimiento del "Plan Nacional de desarrollo de la Cadena Productiva del Cacao y Chocolate al 2030".</text>
