En nuestros tiempos, como en el transcurso de los cuatro siglos anteriores, la readaptación de las estructuras y estrategias locales perseguidas como tal, se ven en la lucha por la reproducción social y étnica. El presente artículo se propone describir las estrategias adoptadas por los campa-asháninca, para hacer frente a los cambios históricos que desafían su estructura social tradicional. El énfasis se pondrá en el sistema de autoridad y en los migrantes estacionarios, pues es en estos dos niveles, en mi opinión, donde reside actualmente el problema de redefinir a los ashaninca.
