                <text>Tesis sobre la narrativa tradicional de la región de Piura.    Sobrevive un pensamiento mítico de tipo sincrético con clara base autóctona que mantiene vigentes elementos narrativos propios de, o paralelos a los grandes mitos. Mitemas y lógica mítica, aparecen de manera constante en el presente estudio.  El segundo tipo de relato es el de la leyenda, narración tradicional corta de un solo episodio, altamente ecotipificada; se distingue del mito en que sus personajes principales son personas en lugar de seres sobrenaturales.  El nacimiento de las leyendas piuranas coincide con la conquista inca,  que marca en el pensamiento  colectivo regional, la entrada en la Historia. La mayor parte de leyendas no obstante, provienen de décadas anteriores a la reforma agraria. El tercer tipo de textos  son los cuentos populares (maravillosos, de costumbres y de animales, constituyendo estos últimos en realidad un subsistema común a las dos primeras clases, ya sea imitándolos o contradiciéndolos).  En la cuentística hay fuerte impronta hispánica, siendo muchos de los textos cuentos populares españoles aclimatados a la psique indígena de Piura. &#13;
Se han recopilado 71 grabaciones de voz y 3 registros de vídeo en  las ocho provincias de Piura, constituyendo un corpus aproximado de 100 testimonios literarios.</text>
