                <text>España fue uno de los mayores “colonizadores” del mundo, y su llegada a tierras extranjeras causó un gran impacto en la educación de los indígenas, iniciando una nueva etapa en la “educación” de los pueblos originarios. En este sentido, este artículo se propone presentar un estudio sobre la trayectoria de la Educación Escolar Indígena (EEI) en seis países colonizados por España. A partir de un estudio bibliográfico se realizó un recorte histórico de la EEI, desde la llegada de las&#13;
misiones religiosas y las imposiciones culturales a los pueblos originarios hasta el momento de la [re]apropiación educativa. El estudio destaca el protagonismo de los pueblos originarios en relación al movimiento de retomo de la EEI con el propósito de promover su cultura y saberes tradicionales.</text>
