C. en la zona del lago Titicaca, en el norte de Chile y en el sur de Perú, lo que probablemente indica cierta continuidad ideológica. Por otro lado, si bien la cronología tradicional de la expansión incaica, establecida por John H. Rowe, plantea una expansión muy tardía hacia el sur del imperio (es decir, posterior a 1471 d. C.), la creciente evidencia de radiocarbono (y termoluminiscencia) indica firmemente que la cerámica y la arquitectura de estilo incaico ya estaban presentes en la zona del lago Titicaca en el siglo XIV d. C. Aunque sin duda se produjeron muchos cambios, especialmente entre 1250 y 1350 d.
